The Chain Reaction Cycles Irish Downhill Mountain Bike Series is back with a bang with four races spread over six months, as you guessed by the title Chain reaction Cycles are back as title sponsor, other sponsors include GrRanna Energy Drink and the one and only Flexo Media taking care of the race coverage, so where are the races?

After a long break round one is on the infamous track on the slopes of Mt Hillary near Mallow Co Cork on the 6th and 7th of April, the track is the longest and roughest of the tracks this year at close to 4minutes for the average rider so will be a big test for everyone racing so start getting your pushups done NOW. Round two is in the Legendary Venue that is Kilbroney Park in Rostrevor Co Down on the May bank holiday weekend the 4th and 5th of May, the track being used is being built as part of the trail center as the fit for purpose DH track and with Glyn O’Brien’s Input don’t expect it to be a walk in the park.

After a month off the National Championships is next and is returning for the 2nd year to Clonmel, Co Tipperary on July 13/14th on what is tricky track despite its handy appearance and has the added bonus of a big field finish and the most bike friendly uplifts in the country, just roll up, load bike and away ya go.

Then the iDMS is back on August 24th and 25th in Fairymount Farm near Roscrea in an Amazing venue and with a certain Rowan Sorrell having input into the track it won’t disappoint

The Final round is another venue that has taken a break from the races in Cullahill on September the 28th and 29th on what is a fast jumpy track with some sweet switchbacks towards the end and the best atmosphere going at the races.

The format is similar to last years with Practice all day Saturday from 9.30am till 4.00pm and Sunday Morning from 9.00am to 11.00am with seeding runs from 12.00pm and race runs from 2.00pm. Entry is online only and you can get more information and enter here on our EVENTS page.
